Merrill School, southwest of Saskatoon, was built in 1908 and held classes until 1965
One-room schoolhouses are scattered across Saskatchewan and each one is full of a different set of Prairie memories.
Now, a group of former students is working to save and preserve Merrill School southwest of Saskatoon in the R.M. of Corman Park.
"We're trying to bring alive the stories, make it live again," Ron Delver said.
Delver can still find the dent in the ground where the flagpole sat outside Merrill School and remembers spending much of his childhood in this building.
"I went to school here from 1952 until 1960," he said.
