500 kids hear from concentration camp survivor as Jewish community remembers
Saskatoon's Jewish community is reaching out to the rest of the city as part of remembering the Holocaust.
Friday saw about 500 students from both the public and seperate school boards visit the Agudas Israel Synagogue. There they heard from Robbie Waisman, a survivor of the Buchenwald concentration camp.
Waisman led the group on a brief march where they carried hand-drawn signs calling for an end to racism. Then, after returning to the synagogue, Waisman recounted his story, starting with his liberation from the camp by American troops in 1945.
