Carol Sleeva thinks of her son on day dedicated to bullying awareness
Wednesday is the International Day of Pink to raise awareness about bullying and the day has special meaning for a Saskatchewan mother.
Carol Sleeva's son, Travis, committed suicide in 2005 after she said he was bullied for a long time at his Canora high school.
"Your thoughts go back to that time and it wasn't a very good time. I still have a heavy heart whenever I think about it," she said.
Sleeva said occasions like the Day of Pink are needed to keep up conversations about bullying.
